Meet Lia

Lia Marie Pacurari is a bright, spirited 10-year-old who finds joy in both learning and playing. An avid reader and dedicated student, she balances her academic interests with playful adventures alongside her little brother Nico. At home, she cherishes moments cuddling with her two beloved cats, Autumn and Tigger. Lia’s close bond with her mommy and daddy is a daily joy. Also, she loves enjoying the all things outdoors in any weather.
Meet Eric
Eric Lowdermilk is a professor of over 20 years, teaching in universities in Missouri and Florida, and currently travels to Colombia, South America, teaching for Global Training Network. He has authored in college student affairs, inner-city youth work, and biblical studies. He and his wife Patty have three children—JonLuc, Rachel, and William—as well as two grandchildren, Lia and Nico. Eric enjoys reading pirate stories to his grandchildren, working on his 93 Miata, and backpacking.
We’re a grandfather and granddaughter team, collaborative authors, bringing the outdoor adventures of Owen and Luke to kids, in a way that makes parents feel safe about what their kids are reading.

I spent every day outdoors exploring, sometimes in places I shouldn't have been exploring, and the adventures I had, I carry with me to this day. But "Where the River Ebbs" has a moral story as well, which is revealed as the reader works their way through the pages. In the end, we are left with a reminder of the importance of not making assumptions about others. A quick read, suitable for young and old.”
